The awareness for our environment and its connection to our general health has grown in momentum throughout the years. We’re now far more aware of the decisions we make and the impact that has on our families and the world around us. It’s been a great thing for many industries as they adapt to ensure eco-friendly alternatives are at least considered as viable options.

Sadly, many industries only make the shift for economic reason when the market demands the changes to be made. This is true in the carpet cleaning industry. While there are still many carpet cleaning businesses using cheap, harmful chemicals, there’s many reasons why eco-friendly carpet cleaning products including carpet stain remover, are a better choice.

Below are the three biggest reasons we believe eco-friendly should be the only choice when having your carpets cleaned.

Better for Your Home

Good quality eco-friendly cleaning products can be just as effective as harsh chemicals when it comes to removing stains and cleaning dirty carpets. In fact, in some instances the eco-friendly options can produce a better outcome than the hazardous chemicals. Greg from Peninsula Flooring Direct believes hazardous cleaning chemicals can cause even greater harm if volatile organic compounds (VOC’s) are present in your carpets.

Here at NoStains we won’t compromise on the quality of our cleaning products and use eco-friendly cleaning options to protect our environment and your family’s home. The products we use are biodegradable, leaving no residue meaning they are better for your homes carpet for the long term.

Moisture, particularly wet carpets can create issues in your home. Our carpet cleaning process is fast drying so it’s better for your home, with all moisture gone in approximately 4 to 6 hours.

Better for Your Health

The carpet within your home can have a huge impact on your health, particularly if you have family members who suffer from allergies or other conditions such as epilepsy that can be triggered by toxins found in the environment. It’s important to clean your carpets regularly to ensure the removal of allergens such as dust, dust-mites, household chemicals, pet dander, pollen and microscopic insect parts.

How you clean your carpet is an important decision, particularly for those that suffer from allergies or other health concerns. If you have your carpets cleaned with harsh chemicals, the cleaning can cause more health concerns than the allergens you were trying to clean away in the first place.

There are plenty of chemicals that are of huge concern. Perchloroethylene, which is a chemical often found in dry cleaning products has also been proven to cause nausea, fatigue and dizziness when inhaled. Naphthalene is another common carpet cleaning chemical that is potentially carcinogenic and dangerous to your central nervous system. These are just two chemicals of concern; the list of other potential hazards is endless.

Better for the Environment

It’s well known that many chemicals can have a terrible effect on the environment. Even the production of these chemicals can create problem such as air or water pollution. Cheap alternatives are often produced in nations with less than ideal manufacturing practices.

Alternatively, good quality eco-friendly carpet cleaners are much safer for our environment. When selecting products, you should weigh up a lot of factors including packaging waste, manufacturing processes and the cleaning agent itself.

Consider the amount of time you spend on your carpet, particularly if you have young children who tend to play on the floors. Consider the health risks a poor decision in carpet cleaning could potentially mean for your family. We believe the few dollars you might save with a cheap cleaning product are not worth the risk to your family so we only use eco-friendly carpet cleaning products to reduce your risks.
