A bathroom has an important role in establishing the overall ambience of your home. It is more than just a place to shower or freshen up. This is a place where you usually start and end your day. Some people even consider it their sacred safe place where they reflect, find inspiration, or create silly conversations with themselves. Being alone in the bathroom can give you a moment of peace and solitude as you release the day's stresses.

The bathroom is much more than a room; it is a safe space. This is why people always aim for big and spacious bathrooms. But even if you only have a little space, you can still make your bathroom look bigger and less suffocating by following these clever tricks:

Be creative with your floor plan

Your layout idea can make or break your bathroom, so pay close attention to designing it. Anchor everything with your taste and style. There are a lot of modern and unconventional designs you can find on the internet, draw inspiration from these and come up with your layout. After drafting your plan, consult an expert and ask about the feasibility of your ideas.

Be selective with your materials and furniture

The materials and furniture you’ll choose as the bathroom floor, walls, countertops, toilet, showers, tub, etc., should complement each other. Naturally, this will affect the overall vibe of your bathroom. It is also crucial that you purchase from trusted companies like JTSpas so you won’t be disappointed with the materials and bathroom furniture quality.

Install mirrors

Mirrors reflect more light and create an illusion that the room is more spacious. There are a lot of design mirrors to choose from; however, keep in mind that you can’t use regular mirrors inside the bathroom. Ordinary mirrors will eventually break down since they can’t stand the high amount of moisture and humidity inside the toilet. In addition, using them might cause accidents in the long run. When shopping for bathroom mirrors, choose those made of tempered glass or laminated glass.

Let there be light

It is good if your bathroom has a window that may let natural light in. But you still need to make sure that you use the right artificial light to brighten up your bathroom. If you want your bathroom to have a warm and calming ambience, you can use warm white lights. However, if you want the space to feel and look neat, you should look for daylight LED lighting. You can also add lights above your bathroom mirrors.

Pick the right vent

Proper ventilation is very important in the bathroom because of the extra humidity inside. The vent helps remove the trapped moisture in the air, which has a lot of benefits like minimising bacterial growth, preventing the development of moulds, reducing condensation, and making your bathroom stay more comfortable and less suffocating.

Your bathroom serves as your haven, and having a spacious bathroom is a dream for many. May these tips help you make your bathroom look bigger.
