Sandra Bullock has made her mark in the acting industry and also commands an impressive portfolio in real estate. As a member of Hollywood's elite, she's valued at $250 million and was recently recognized in the Guinness World Records as the world's top-earning actress. Where, then, is Sandra Bullock's residence?

This Oscar-winning star currently lives in New Orleans, Louisiana. Sandra Bullock lived on Tybee Island in Georgia before moving to New Orleans. She is extremely serious when it comes to properties, and according to Dirt, the actress currently has 17 properties to her name.

While her primary residence is in New Orleans, Louisiana, Sandra Bullock has built a great real estate portfolio and owns some Georgia, Manhattan, and Hollywood properties. Keep reading to find out where Sandra Bullock lives and her impressive real estate portfolio.

Where Does Sandra Bullock Live?

As mentioned earlier, the primary residence for Sandra Bullock is in New Orleans, Louisiana. One of the reasons Bullock decided to stay in New Orleans is to help her get away from the tiring lifestyles of New York and Hollywood.

The star is quite private when it comes to her personal life. Still, she has several properties, including a mansion in New Orleans, a hilltop estate in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and a waterfront estate in Austin, Texas.

1. New Orleans, Louisiana

Sandra Bullock and her then-husband Jesse James bought this Victorian-era mansion in 2009 for about $2,250,000. The home, known as Swiss Chalet House or Freret's Folly, situated in New Orleans, is 6,615 square feet and has five bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms.

It features an ornate entryway, a high ceiling, a carved column, and an elegant Victorian style. The home was built by Architect William Fretet in 1876. With ornate traditional features on its three-story frame, this is by far the regular housing Bullock craved in 1988.

2. Los Angeles, California

During the Covid 19 pandemic, Sandra Bullock and her family chose to stay in Los Angeles. She reportedly bought this attractive Tudor-style home in 2011 for $23 million.

This home was built in the 1940s and sits on four acres of land. It looks like this Bird Box star had, and still has, a taste for historic homes. But when we say historic, it doesn't mean that the house isn't resourceful.

Sandra Bullock's Los Angeles home features seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and a guest house. It also has a tennis court, home theater, a pool, and a gym. This flat, hilltop estate has a 270-degree view, where she can see the Pacific ocean.

3. Austin, Texas

When her career was at the top, the actress wanted to settle down someplace she could relax. Bullock bought a three-bedroom house in Austin overlooking Barton Creek in the spring of 1997. The actress paid $575,000 for the property, which is 5,633 square feet and has two and a half bathrooms. Bullock sold this house for $2 million in 2003.

She also acquired a 5.81-acre estate on Lake Austin the same year she bought the three-bedroom home in Texas.

According to Telegraph, the property was supposedly infested with mold and had a leaky roof, water damage, and faulty wiring. In 2004, the actress earned $7.8 million in damages after suing the builder.

4. Beverly Hills and Malibu

In 2018, Bullock bought three properties: one in Beverly Hills and Malibu, and the other two in an exclusive community in the city. None of these properties were purchased with the help of mortgages. She was able to acquire all of these properties for a total of $16.5 million.

The first acquisition was in June 2018, when she purchased a 5-bedroom home in a prestigious gated community of Malibu for $8.5 million. It was surrounded by 24-hour security and some neighbors, such as Jon Burton, the producer of the upcoming film "The Lego Movie."

The 3,700-square-foot mansion, built in 1979, has four bedrooms and four bathrooms. There is an open plan with tile flooring, sliding glass doors, and a kitchen that screams the late '90s with dark-stained wood cabinets, white-veined ebony granite counters, and a complete caboodle of costly stainless equipment.

Bullock paid $8.5 million for the beachfront property using a 1031 exchange, a financial technique that permits an owner to delay capital gains taxes by exchanging one investment property for another. Bullock purchased the Malibu home shortly before selling a smaller rental house she owned in the Hollywood Hills.

Second Malibu Home

Bullock spent $5.3 million in June 2020 on another beachfront property inside the same Malibu gated community. Dirt indicates that this time a modest single-story cottage was only a few meters away from the bigger $8.5 million building.

The mint green midcentury home has two bedrooms and two bathrooms and is about 1,300 square feet. Bullock placed the property up for lease shortly after purchasing it; however, it's unclear if she was able to find a tenant.

The property, which was built in 1946, is 2,800 square feet and has three bedrooms and 3 and a half bathrooms. It has ebony-stained hardwood floors, a kitchen with stainless appliances, a swimming pool with a waterfall, and an English garden-style front yard neatly trimmed.

Sandra Bullock’s Previous Homes

1. Tybee Island, Georgia

Sandra Bullock used to own a beautiful beach house on Georgia's exclusive Tybee Island. However, she let this property go in 2021. The price she sold the property is still unknown, but it was listed at $6.5 million. Sandra Bullock sold the home completely furnished.

The Youtube video above shows a virtual of this attractive home with an interesting interior design. The home comprises about three acres of land and is a beachfront home, making it perfect for vacations.

The main house is approximately 3,360 square feet, while the guest house is 2,848 square feet. This home has a total of six bathrooms and seven bedrooms, decorated in a beachy style with wicker furniture and white linens.

There are a ton of amenities in the beach house, like a basketball court, a games room, and a pool. Before the sale, it was reported that Sandra Bullock used to use it as a rental property since it is a great vacation spot. She rented out for $1400 a night.

2. West Hollywood

Bullock expanded her real estate portfolio in 2014, purchasing a penthouse in West Hollywood's famed Sierra Towers for $3.6 million. According to some reports, the home was formerly held by Matthew Perry, another well-known actor.

The apartment is on the 22nd story of Sierra Towers and has excellent views of the city of lights. It is a 1,672 square foot that was recently renovated by the actress.

In 2017, the celebrity chose to buy a second apartment in the same block after becoming dissatisfied with her first two-bedroom and three-bathroom property. This time, though, she paid $5.1 million for a larger 2,101 square foot flat on the 20th floor.

According to Dirt, both condos have already been sold for $8 million, which is $700,000 less than she bought them for. The condo she bought in 2014 was sold at a profit of $4.4 million, while her second property sold for just $3.6 million, resulting in a $1.5 million loss for the actress.

3. Sunset Beach Mansion

After Sandra married Jesse James in 2005 on a ranch outside of Santa Barbara, California, in a star-studded ceremony that included Hugh Grant, Keanu Reeves, and apparently some Hells Angels members, the couple moved into Jesse James' Sunset Beach mansion, which he had previously purchased for $1.9 million in 2002.

The home has a games room, a wet bar, and an office on the inside. The living and dining rooms are separated by a crescent-shaped island in the open-plan space. It also features four bedrooms and four bathrooms, as well as a powder room, a walk-in closet fit for a star, and a fireplace in the master suite.

You'll find automatic tiki torches around a pool with a water slide and a built-in grill. The bright and entertainment-filled home, on the other hand, did nothing to lighten the gravity of their marriage, which terminated five years later.

After Sandra Bullock left in 2010, James sold the beach property for $4.5 million, claiming that Sandra's name never appeared on the deeds.

Conclusion

Sandra Bullock, star of the film Lost City, prefers to keep her personal life private, revealing just a few facts about her home with her boyfriend Bryan Randall and children Louis and Laila 8.
